Hello sir,
I am really Appreciate for the kind of your help to everyone.
Sir, due to some health problems I discontinue my studies ,I am undergoing my B tech in EEE from CMJ university in regular mode and i am planning to pursive my Masters in Canada or India probably a good university
my concern is
1.CMJ is only UGC approved not approved by AICTE so will Canadian universities will accept that degree.
2.Will the corporate companies in India will accept CMJ degree or not?
3.Is there any value for this degree from CMJ

Kindly clear my ambiguity i will be very much thankful to you

1.CMJ is only UGC approved not approved by AICTE so will Canadian universities will accept that degree.

If you are talking about well known and reputed universities in USA, Canada, UK and Australia- They may not accept CMJ degrees as they prefer NAAC accredited A grade universities only.
CMJ like universities in those counties who are there to make money may give you admission (like Tri valley university in US where all Indian students were arrested)

2.Will the corporate companies in India will accept CMJ degree or not?
No, the good company may not, average company, may accept

3.Is there any value for this degree from CMJ
As of now, approved so you can do higher studies from India but for fture no.
CMJ is degree selling shop only with due approval from government.

Can you please advise me on Open Degree from Annamalai University as i don't have intermediate certification (12th). Currently i'm working abroad.

As an HR Professional, would you prefer someone having Open Degree?

Hi Faisal,
Thanks a lot for your appreciation. It encourage me to continue with my posts.
Few 4 years back, Tamil Nadu Government decided that none of the universities in Tamil Nadu will offer degree in non-formal/ open university system except the Tamil Nadu Open University. So Annamalai does not offer it. You have option to do it from TNOU and IGNOU

About your second question: As far as the institute is trustworthy and not involved in degree scam (CMJ and other private universities are degree sellers whereas IGNOU, Anaamalai, Madras etc are still trustworthy) I do not mind to accept a degree holder from an Open University or non-formal system.
For instances, I was in a leading healthcare and was heading overall recruitment and talent acquisition process. Many candidates from open universities like YCMOU and IGNOU. It was their hard earned degree. I valued their other qualities including experiences over qualification. They are still in the job, performing well. I think the best way to stop these degree sellers like MG University nd CMJ shillong is to stop considering college degree where it does not make compulsory by law (like lawyer, doctors etc)

Hi,
For this please refer my blog post on CMJ and also comments above
http://speakhr.blogspot.in/2013/01/truth-of-cmj-and-such-other-private.html

You may get admission in Canada to the university similar standard of CMJ who are private and has same motive i,.e. to sell degree and earn money but any reputed and ranked university will not accept CMJ's degree

Here is example of requirement from McGill. McGill is a well known and very valuable institute
MINIMUM CREDENTIALS REQUIRED:
To be admitted to a McGill MASTERS program,
you must have obtained one of the following:
• Bachelor’s degree – awarded after four or five years of study
• Bachelor’s degree – awarded after three years of study if the school awarding the degree has a current NAAC rating of “A” or higher
• Master of Arts, Master of Science, Master of Education,
Master of Commerce or Master of Business
Administration - awarded after two years of study beyond
a three year Bachelor’s degree if the school awarding the Bachelors degree

Here, they clearly need degree from NAAC accredited A university.

CMJ does not have NAAC accredited and even if it get it done, it will not get anything beyond C grade

About corporate: It is not preferred. Corporate may or may not accept the individual but definitely they will not value the CMJ

Please could provide your valuable opinion on this institution.

Thanks

Govind Sharma, March 12, 2013 at 12:55 AM
Hi,
This is recognized by UGC as a private university. The UGC does not talk about its efficiency to deliver the courses. Only basis of recommendation was "There was no institute in western sikkim"

further, This university started with just 6 courses to make fool everybody and immediately after that started selling the degrees in the name of distance learning. It is showing backdated admission and in one sitting awarding degrees. (I really do not know how many of such students who have bought degree like that are really capable to pass degrees under stringent measure)

It is a private university, with no quality and involve in selling degree. Students are also getting lot of difficulty after completing degree from this institute

For government job, degree from this institute stands valid and even for higher education as of now.

In corporate, it has no value

No, it is not approved by DEC and this university is running degree selling scandal. Avoid it.
For M.Sc. IT better go for MCA from IGNOU or University of Madras
It will be valid and reputed too (only thing is that you cannot buy degree from there as you can do with CMJ, EIILM, Mahatma Gandhi University)

Hi Sachin,

Thanks for your appreciation.
Yes, there are foreign universities, well reputed who offers executive MBA programme however it will be very costly (as good as full time MBA from IIMs) and for such programme there is no placement support.

For part time MBA, I do not know your city however following are good options

For Mumbai
part time MBA programme (3 years), classes 6 PM to 8 PM daily
Admission: based on group discussion.
Fee: Approx 55000 per year
Degree: From University of Mumbai
Distance learning: No
Courses available: MMM (Master of Marketing Management), MFM (Master of Financial Management), MFSM (Master of Financial Service Management- Only at Alkesh Dinesh Modi Institute, Department of management studies, University of Mumbai), MHRM (Master of human resources management), MIM (Master of Informatin Management- for IT)
Equivalent to MBA and masters degree: Yes
Eligible for higher studies, NET, lecturership: Yes

Almost all institute in Mumbai offer this but you should opt only following institutes
1. Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS)
2. Welingkar (do not do PGDM or PGDBA, do only courses mentioned above)
3. K J Somiaya
4. N L Dalmia
5. ADMI

Other options are:
1. Executive MBA froom NMIMS
2. Not MBA but executive programme in management from IIT Bombay
http://www.som.iitb.ac.in/epm/btn%201%20copy.html

Delhi
1. Faculty of Management studies, FMS, University of Delhi (Executive MBA)

Hyderabad
JNTU
MBA (Part-Time) 6 Semesters
A part time MBA program is catered for the working executives from public and private sector. This three year program imparts and equips them with the contemporary issues in management

Govind Sharma, March 17, 2013 at 10:34 PM
Above are Indian institutes
if you are looking for foreign universities, following are the best options:
1. National University of Singapore, Executive MBA
http://ucla.nus.edu/
Cost: Approx 42 lakhs

2. University of London, External International MBA
Cost: £12,490 (basic)

Hi
I request you to go through all the comments before putting up query. I have clarified enough about CMJ.
You may also refer following link
http://speakhr.blogspot.in/2013/01/truth-of-cmj-and-such-other-private.html?showComment=1363325531958

Everybody knows now that whoever take degree from CMJ is actually they do not study there, they do not do authentic research they just buy the degree.
This university is a private one, now rcongized by UGC but it may meet the similar fate of private universities in Chhatisgarh under the Act of 2004 where supreme court declared all the universities are invalid so their courses.
Again, students are getting lot of rejection from India and abroad when they apply for job and visa from CMJ and other such private universities.

One request to all:
Please be ethical
Please do not buy degree, earn it. There must be a job of your capability and interest. Please do not pollute the education system. Better do little hard work and earn degree from good universities.

ITM's full time course thats too PGDM (=PGDM) from Kharghar campus only holds value and is well reputed

Executive MBA from ITM does not get placement support
It may be approved by UGC as they have established a private university but you can get similar degree from other well reputed central/ state university at just 25% cost of ITM's executive MBA then why to waste money?

Govind Sharma, March 25, 2013 at 2:06 AM
Hi
First of all to work as a lecturer, one need to have 2 years masters degree programme and then qualified in NET/ SLET and Ph.D as preferred.
So one year programme even for a UGC approved university remains invalid
S. P Jain is a highly reputed B school in India.
Its fee is also very high. It is approx 25 Lakhs.
For lecturer job even if you do distance MBA from approved well known university in distance mode (pondicherry, Madras, Anna etc.) it costs around 50,000 then why to spend 25 lakhs?

If your son is an engineer or holds 4 years degree, he can do FPM (Fellowship programme in Management) which is equivalent to MBA, free of cost and even IIM pay stipend per month. This is the better option

Dear Govind Sharma, ,
You have done an excellent job by exposing the recognized universities which in fact are degree mills.

Moreover, it is noteworthy that UGC's list is outdated. The universities mentioned in the list of UGC are no more present, in fact they had stopped their work decades ago. But the UGC keeps on publishing the same list again and again. They never try to update the list by including new fake universities.

but

1. It may not be approved by AICTE and Distance Education Council
2. It is very costly. Same programme is available for 25% cost from other well reputed approved institutes
3. They do not provide placement for Executive MBA and also for corporate they do not see executive MBA from there as a preferred qualification, they treat all recognized executive MBA from similar institutes equally

Allahabad University is a central university under ministry of HRD, Government of India.
It is one of the most reputed university (but not for MBA)
The website is http://www.allduniv.ac.in/

you can check it from http://www.ugc.ac.in

Please do not mistake it with Allahabad Agricultural Institute- Deemed University.

There is no online MBA available in India. Few institutes offer "online" PG Diploma but they are nothing more than trash paper and not usable.

Where do you stay?
University of Madras and IGNOU both offers MBA in other countries including Nepal, KSA, and UAE
You can choose these universities too.

There is one Ayurvedic Private university at Shahjahanpur, Uttarpradesh, which offers BAMS Ayurvedacharya and claims it has CCIM approval as Guru-Shishya Parampara, Please investigate this scam of Maharshi Bharadwaj Akhil Bhartiya Rashtra Bhasha Vigyan Shiksha Sansthan, Shahjahanpur, U.P.

First of all, this institute's petition to recognize its courses as equivalent to BTC (Basic Teachers's course) by Allahabad high court clearly stating it is not a recognized institute
please refer
Maharshi Bhardwaj, Akhil Bhartiya Rashtra Bhasha Vigyan v. State Of U.P. Thru' Principal Secretary And Others - WRIT - A No. 38357 of 2007 [2007] RD-AH 14306 (21 August 2007)

This institute h\is fooling people by misleading. It sent a letter to Ministry of HRD, Government of India asking to give NOC to run Diploma Ayurved in Guru Shishya PArampara (Not BAMS, please note) and not ministry of HRD but department of Ayush, CCIM regulates BAMS course and it is uniform in all over India. Ministry of HRD clearly told that there is no such regulation for guru shishya parampara course so no NOC can be granted (government itself clarifies that no such courses).
please refer
http://mbssamiti.org/images/bms%20latter%2000.jpg

All BAMS course must be approved by CCIM, it must be 5 1/2 years (4 1/2 years + 1 year internship), should be offered full time only and only to those who have passed HSC (10+2) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology with at least 50% and must have cleared entrance exam for medical. The course must be full time

Please refer current CCIM approved institutes list
http://www.ccimindia.org/colleges_status_ayurveda_2012-13.htm

This institute's name is nowhere

It is clear case of forgery and misleading. You can file a case in a local police station about the same

I hope I have clarified everything. Shall you have any query, please feel free to revert

    1. Hi,
This is anew and private university. I went through the website but it does not have much info about process I am doubtful about its quality too.
Although it is a UGC apprvoed private university but only this is not sufficient
      Avoid it

If I do MBA from a reputed college then go for IBM/DELL/TCS, will I stand chance to get through.

  11. Sir
I am very much impressed in reading your advices to different students.you are doing a great job.
I would like to do MBA through distance learning.Which elective is better? Operations and Supply chain management from Pondicherry DDE Or Logistics and supply chain management from Madras Uni. DDE ? What about other electives like HR?
Is it necessary that a Logistics or SCM job seeker should have an engineering background?
Myself done BA,MA(Sociology 53%) and MA (English 53%) (both are in distance mode)
(Doing PG Diploma in Journalism and Mass communication is also in plan)
    I am working in Air force,as a transport driver,will retire after 4 years.Now my age is 31.
For securing a job after retirement what course I should start now? I am totally confused.
Please give suggestions with your experience.

    1. Hi
Thanks a lot for your appreciation. You have kept too many options. If you are not sure, please go for a general MBA.
For logistics or SCM, engineering background is not mandatory. You may find job in fleet management. fleet planning in BPOs and other large organisations including travel and tourism industry considering your background.
For securing job after retirement, you should do following things
      1. Attend good MOOC courses in related area
      2. build your professional network strong on linkedin
      3. Check opportunities available in the market and skill set they are demanding and accordingly focus on strengthening them
      4. you should register and apply at http://www.exarmynaukri.com/APA/WEB/common/index.jsp

    1. When you do a general MBA, during second year, instead of studying all the papers related to a specialisation such as marketing or HR or so on, you study mix of all.
You may apply but accepting or not accepting such qualification is solely on the discretion of the company where you are applying. By the way, if you will not tell them or justify them, I do not see that create any problem

Only state or central government establish an open university. Venkateshwara is a private university and yet has not got approval to offer any courses other than its on campus full time mode
