  1. Hi Sir,

I have passed 12th Science Stream and want to do MBBS, Recently I saw one notification by UGC regarding 'pursuing for 2 degrees at a time'
Is it possible to do 2 degrees at a time? Can I do another bachelor degree in distance or online mode along with MBBS, even if MBBS is from any type of university?

    1. Yes, you can do but there is no point on doing another degree if you are doing MBBS
      Completely focus on MBBS

  2. Sir, SMU-DE Counselor said that it's possible to do 2 bachelors at a time, one as distance. After reading your post about SMU I realized they are providing DE violating UGC rules and left that idea and want to know whether what they said the truth or not

    1. Hi,
Pondicherry is a central university, well reputed and good but as far as full time concern, it is not amongst the top 45 institutes I suggested. Please read http://simplygovind.blogspot.in/2013/03/myth-and-fact-about-mba.html

However, it is still one of the good options amongst many. Few of the reason for this statement are:
Recipient of STAR NEWS Outstanding B-School( south) of the year 2010
Rated #6 among Top 10 B-School in South India by INDIAN EXPRESS 2010
Rated #19 in the category of top B-Schools of excellence in India (CSR-GHRD Survey, 2010)
Rated #3 in the country among the government universities B-School (CSR-GHRD Survey, 2009)
Ranked #1 in the country among all the B-schools considering the fees paid by students (CSR-GHRD Survey, 2008)
Rated A+ (Business India survey 2008)
Rated #4 in the country among the government university B-Schools (AIMA Survey, 2008)
      Accredited by NAAC-UGC
      Approved by the AICTE

It has 67th all over India Rank in Business Today survey (still good). while TIME ranks its in B category
It is advisable to go for full time

You cannot tie up with any university however, you can provide independent training and may ask student to enroll for BFA programme of MS University/ Bharthidasan University
You may also check with IGNOU if they want to do collaboration

  11. Sir why PGDM from IMT Ghaziabad via distance learning is not eligible for NET?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Because it is not equivalent to MBA
To be eligible for NET you should have a post graduate degree from a state, central, private or deemed university (Minimum 2 years duration) awarded without any violation of UGC norm or else the other programme should be equivalent to PG degree
Any distance PGDM has not been granted equivalence to MBA or any other masters degree

    2. MBA should be of minimum 2 years duration and must have been approved by AICTE
if MBA is distance, it should have DEB approval, AICTE approval and also must have been awarded without violating territorial jurisdiction
1 year executive MBA is invalid for NET. Jaipur National University's distance MBA does not have separate AICTE approval and this university cannot offer course outside its campus. It may admit students from anywhere but have to take exams and assessment in the campus at Jaipur only

  20. Hi,
For B.Ed. preference goes as per the school subjects hence preference will be always as follows:
    Arts
    Science
    Commerce
Your subject falls under commerce and there is very few seats available for commerce stream.
You may opt NCERT for the same. They offer B.Ed and one of the best institute
Alternatively, you may pursue MBA/ M.Com and then appear for NET/ qualify and go ahead in your career.

If you want to do in distance mode, so special requirement is there but if you want to do full time, since you have not studied English, you need to appear for entrance exam conducted by Department of English, University of Mumbai. (for full time, admission already closed)
You may also do it from IGNOU

  26. I have done a full time regular two year PGDM from an AICTE approved institute, but am not eligible to receive NET certificate from UGC in lack of an MBA degree. I now want to pursue MBA now, and have an option of taking admission in a distance education MBA program conducted by NIMS university through lateral entry which will save me an year. As I have been informed by the sources that the consolidated marksheet that I will receive will have lateral entry mentioned on it. The doubt that I have is, will this degree and marksheet be considered valid by UGC to grant me NET certificate and allow me to pursue PhD in future.
