IGNOU entrance exam for MBA distance mode, B.Ed. distance mode, M.Ed. distance mode and B.Sc. Nursing distance mode

IGNOU announces entrance test for Management Programme, B.Ed., M.Ed. & Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing

The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) invites applications for admission to degree/ diploma programmes in management, (Diploma in Management, PG Diploma in Management, PG Diploma in Human Resource Management, PG Diploma in Financial Management, PG Diploma in Operations Management, PG Diploma in Marketing Management, PG Diploma in Financial Markets Practice) OPENMAT-XXXVI, M.Ed., B.Ed. and Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (OPENNET-IV) for January 2015 session through entrance tests to be held on 17th August 2014 all over the country.
Student Handbook and Prospectus can be obtained from the Registrar (SRD), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068 and also from all the Regional Centres by sending a sum of Rs.1050/- through a demand draft/ IPO in favour of IGNOU, payable at New Delhi or city of the concerned Regional Centre or by paying Rs.1000/- in cash at the sale counters at these places. The last date for receipt of request for Student Handbook and Prospectus by post is 10th July, 2014.
Application Form and Prospectus can also be downloaded from the website www.ignou.ac.in. and sent along with draft/ IPO for Rs.1050/- in favour of IGNOU payable at New Delhi by Registered/Speed Post to Registrar (SED), IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068 (for Management Programmes and Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing Programme) and to the concerned Regional Centre (for M.Ed. and B.Ed. programmes). Prospectus will be sent to such applicants after receipt of Rs. 1050/-. The last date for the submission of the forms is on or before 15th July, 2014.

What are the eligibility criteria for OPENMAT/ for management programme of IGNOU?
1. Graduation in any discipline with 50% marks for General Category / 45% for Reserved Category, with 3 years
Managerial/supervisory / professional experience.

OR
Professional Degree with 50% marks in:
Engineering/Medicine/Chartered Accountancy (ICAI) / Cost and Works Accountancy (ICWAI)/ Company Secretaryship (ICSI) /Law.

And
2. Clearance of OPENMAT conducted by IGNOU.

I do not have 3 years work experience, am I eligible for MBA and management programme?
No, 3 years work experience is mandatory.

I have passed my engineering Diploma but could not complete my graduation. May I apply for IGNOU MBA?
No, graduation is must. You may apply for Diploma in Management.

Is IGNOU MBA approved by AICTE and DEB?
Yes, IGNOU MBA and other management programmes are approved by AICTE and DEB.

I have cleared MAT/ GMAT/ CAT/ XAT/ CET. Still do I need to appear for OPENMAT?
Yes, it is mandatory.

I have a distance learning degree from a university not approved by DEC/DEB, may I apply?
No, IGNOU rejects such degrees.

Does corporate value IGNOU MBA?
It depends on the organization where you are applying. IGNOU MBAs are high in  quality and much better than many full time MBAs.

What is the course duration for MBA and when does it start?
It is 2.5 years and starts from January 2015. Diploma and PG Diplomas are usually 1 year.

I strongly recommend. IGNOU is a central university hence for the public sector recognition from MHRD and AICTE matter a lot. It is safest for you to pursue MBA from IGNOU

For general and specialization MBA it is 31500 for hospital management, financial market and others, not specified yet.



What is the eligibility criteria for B.Ed.
1. UGC recognized Bachelor’s degree or a higher degree with fifty (50%) percent marks from a recognized university.
However, for teachers appointed prior to the commencement of NCTE Regulation, Norms and Procedures, second amendment regulation dated 30.3.2010, the requirement of 50% marks shall not apply.

2. Serving teachers with two years full time teaching experience in a Government or Government Recognized
Primary/Sec/Sr. Sec School with registration number. The requisite teaching experience of 2 years must be completed on or before the last date of submission of Application as notified.

3. The reservation for SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer), War widows, Kashmiri migrants, Physically handicapped
(Disabled) and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central/State Government whichever is applicable.
There shall be relaxation of 5% marks as per GOI.
I have experience in private coaching institute; may I apply for B.Ed. from IGNOU?
No, you cannot

Is IGNOU BA valid for promotion and in any state in India?
Yes, it is approved by NCTE, stringent and valid for appointment as well as promotion in any schools in India

B.Ed.(55% marks) from a NCTE approved institute with 2 years experience.

Who can apply for B.Sc. Nursing?
In-service Nurses, that is Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives (RNRM) having 10+2 with three years, Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with minimum of two years experience in the profession. (For male nurses who have not done midwifery in the GNM programme should have a certificate in any of the nursing courses of 6-9 months, duration prescribedby the Indian Nursing Council in lieu of midwifery).

OR
In-service Nurses (RNRM) having 10th class (Matriculation) or its equivalent with three year, Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with minimum of five years experience in the profession.   1. I had called up Ignou center in Delhi for information about MBA in Information Technology Management, they say that MBAITM has been discontinued. I even checked at bangalore IGNOU center even they didn't had that program. Can you confirm if this is true.
    Cause I am planning to do it through IGNOU. Or can you suggest where can I pursue Distance MBA in IT from Bangalore

    You may opt University of Madras's MBA System through distance mode as it has exam centre in Bangalore

    You may also see shimoga University's MBA however I am doubful about its quality. Same applies to KSOU too

    I should say its my luck to see your blog on time, because i am about get into trap of SCDL and SMU. But all your topics have covered a lot on it.

    So any how i am an IT Professional and holding a 8 years of educational gap. Now decided to continue my education and opted for MBA in IT in distance/correspondence. I live in Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. Here andhra univerisy is not offering MBA in IT and so far i could not identify any univeristy in Andhra Pradesh offering MBA in IT. So Please suggest best university which provides.

    She can do MA education through IGNOU it has instructional designing
    IGNOU also offer Post Graduate Diploma in E-Learning (PGDEL)
    You can also look for Post-Graduate Diploma in Education Technology (PGDET) from IGNOU
    I think they are few of the best options available
