IIM Indore Opens admission for FPM (PhD) and industry FPM (PhD) for year 2015

I have been advocating industry people to pursue Ph.D from institutes like IIMs. IIMs are among the best institutes in India to pursue FPM (Fellow Programme in Management). These programmes are equivalent to Ph.D and holds very important value.

In other institutes, you need to pay for doing PhD but when you do a full time on campus FPM at any IIMs, you get free stipend or money to do it. Yes, admission is very rigorous and stringent. But that will be always case, is not it? If you need anything which has more value, you need to put extra efforts even God is not an exception. The same God residing in a popula temple like Shirdi or Siddhivinayak or at Tirupati, you need to put extra efforts, more line and so on.

Why to do FPM from IIM than doing from other institutes
1. India's top B school
2. Has lot of reputation
3. Helps immensely when you want to start your own consulting.
4. an IIM tag means a lot

Course duration:
4 years out of this, for 1 year student study the PG programme meant for regular students at IIM.

FPM at IIMI

The Fellow Programme at IIMI is a unique doctoral programme in management. It is designed to provide both breadth and depth of knowledge to doctoral participants in management. The programme has two-fold objective of enabling the participants to master the relevant methodological tools of management research on one hand, and the advancement of the current body of management knowledge on the other. The FPM track offers prospects of a career within academia or in (research) positions outside the academia world. Programme's rigorous curriculum provides ample training for an academic career and gives participants the opportunity to make an indelible mark on the research activity in their respective field. The programme offers specialization in various areas of management.
With the rapid expansion of management education in India, it has become inevitable that top business schools cater to the need of the faculty by producing excellent researchers and academicians. Industry FPM
Industry FPM is an external PhD for working professional and offered at only IIM Indore. Other IIMs do not offer it. For full time PhD (FPM) you get stipend from IIM but for industry FPM, you need to pay Rs. 5 lakhs as a fee. I do not support this as in fact IIMs should encourage more and more industry PhD at nominal fee so IIMs will have useful research in the area of management.

Placement
IIM does not provide placement for FPM students.
